The purpose of this study was to compare the perceptual - motor abilities in first and third elementary girl students in urban and rural areas. 108 elementary school girls (54 from villages and 54 from towns) were selected randomly. Samples were calibrated graded on the economic situation of families in urban and rural schools in grades 1 to 3 and distance to town. Data collection included a researcher- made questionnaire and Lincoln - Oseretsky test to measure perceptual- motor abilities. Results were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t test and ANOVA. Results showed a significant difference between perceptual – motor abilities between first and third grades in urban and rural areas (5%> p). The final results indicated that environmental or economic conditions in both urban and rural areas had no effect on perceptual – motor abilities in first and second grades, but an effect on perceptual- motor abilities in third grade girls.
