Riham Mohamed Arnous

Neonatal AKI is a major cause of NICU motility and morbidity. The Main risk factors are those high risk neonates as those with CHD, prenatal asphyxia or RD, PDA. The most common medical cause AKI are: vancomycin, Acyclovir, Amphotricin, Aminoglycosides, NSAIDs and Surfactant.

The 3 main steps to avoid are:

• Good hydration

• Dose adjustment, therapeutic level follows up

• The lowest dose in short course in those with renal impairment.
