The initial few minutes of a infant’s life is precarious since shift of fetal to extrauterine life and the baby instead of depending on placenta has to breath and preserve circulation on its own once being separated from mother. In an asphyxiated baby, this period is even more critical. A deferment in the beginning of vigorous and appropriate resuscitation can lead to catastrophic consequence. Often, death may be deterred but can lead to everlasting sequalae in the form of cerebral palsy and several forms of neurodevelopmental disarrays. Hence, correct and well-timed resuscitation in the delivery room is vital in intact survival of the asphyxiated babies. We have every 5 years guidelines from evidence based research which makes us practice the best resucitaion to hev improved outcomes. Centered on the commendation of ILCOR 2019, the American heart association (AHA) has established the algorithm of resuscitation in 2020. This presentation will duscuss the new guidelines of delivery room care of the baby centered on International liaison committee on resuscitation (ILCOR).
