With the surgical intervention the cyst was removed successfully along with its membrane from the retrobulbar region of the left eye and on parasitological examination it was diagnosed as Coenurus gaigeri cyst, (which is the intermediate stage of T. multiceps gaigeri) and the animal recovered after treatment with antibiotics and pain killers.
