Abstract

Metal phosphides like aluminium phosphide ar potent pesticides. This extremely deadly substance is employed for rice and different grains protection in Iran. because of its high toxicity potential and simple accessibility, it's wide used as a suicide poison. This substance has no effective curative and also the incidence of deaths because of its poisoning is increasing day by day in Iran. this study was conducted to indicate the increasing incidence of fatal aluminium phosphide poisoning associate degreed its pharmacology and rhetorical aspects in an 8-year study, 2006 to 2013. Autopsy sheets were reviewed and cases with the history of aluminium phosphide poisoning were chosen. pharmacology analysis results, demographic and necroscopic examination findings were studied. a complete of fifty one.8% of studied cases were feminine. Most of the cases were between ten and forty years previous. the style of death was self-poisoning in eighty fifth of cases. Morphine, ethanol, and tricyclic were the foremost common extra medicine detected in pharmacology analysis. The incidence of fatal aluminium phosphide poisoning cases referred for gas analysis was five.22 and 37.02 per million of population of capital of Iran in 2006 and 2013, severally. The incidence of fatal aluminium phosphide poisoning cases referred for gas analysis was five.22 and 37.02 per million of population of capital of Iran in 2006 and 2013, severally. The results of this study showed that in spite of ban and restrictions, there was a dramatic increase within the incidence of fatal aluminium phosphide poisoning in capital of Iran from 2006 to 2013. Safety alert ought to be highlighted in educational program for all population teams concerning the deadly effects of aluminium phosphide tablets.

Aluminium phosphide (AlP) poisoning is one in every of the foremost common causes of death in Iran. it's accessible in 3-gm pill forms (Phostoxin, Celphos, Quickphos, and Phostek) referred to as "rice tablet" in Iran. mount is regenerate to gas gas (PH3) following contact with acid within the abdomen and water or wetness. PH3 may be a extremely deadly and inflammable gas . it's inodorous in its pure form; but some reagents like carbamate, ammonium ion carbonate, methanethiol (methylmercaptane), urea, and paraffin ar superimposed to mount tablets to manage flammability and turn out warning against gas dispersion in air . gas and air mixture could ignite impromptu and cause health hazards like burns in poisoned patients .

Case Presentation A thirty five year previous lady with a past history of major depression was referred for scrutiny and determination the reason behind death to Legal medication Organization, Tehran, Iran. Her face and neck was burnt. Relatives' reports indicated that she was found dead in her bed. She had eaten four mount tablets and also the instrumentation of mount tablets was found empty besides her bed. it absolutely was calculable that death has occurred but six hours before finding her body. Erosions of the abdomen mucous membrane and a garlic odour were detected at autopsy examination. Liver, abdomen content, leg bone blood and humour were gathered for pharmacology analysis. Systematic pharmacology analysis was performed victimisation indefinite quantity Gas action (HS/GC) for grain alcohol and methanol; skinny Layer action (TLC), High Performance Liquid action (HPLC), Gas Chromatography/ Mass spectrum analysis (GC/MS) for organic medicine, opioids and different poisons; and spectrophotometry for Carboxy hemoglobin detection.
