Introduction

Substance P is a neuropeptide that belongs to the tachykinin family, characterized by its role in transmitting pain signals and regulating various physiological processes. It is synthesized and released by neurons in response to noxious stimuli, functioning primarily through its interaction with the neurokinin-1 receptor (NK1R).
