Andrea Regner, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine and of the Post Graduate Program of Cell and Molecular Biology Applied to Human Health of the Lutheran University of Brazil, in Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul. Supervises Post Graduate students and is a senior researcher in the field of cell biology and biomarkers in critical illnesses, particularly severe traumatic brain injury. Further, has worked in clinical practice in prehospital and emergency care. Also, has experience in Health Care Management in the Public Health System of Brazil, has occupied chief positions in the Coordination of Emergency Departments of a Regional Trauma Center and of a Regional General Hospital in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Southern Brazil.
