I obtained my degrees at the University of Milan-Bicocca and, later, at the University of Padua, where I progressively became involved in the field of parenting, child development and adult-child interactions. During the last years I have been doing research and intervention in parenting and infants emotional development in risk (i.e. in the case of parental psychopathology or dyads with difficulties in emotion regulation) and non-at-risk conditions (unselected families), through the use of validated and standardized attachment-based intervention and assessment tools. Recently I have become involved in a project aimed at assessing the impact of extra-familiar caretaking on child development (i.e. quality of childcare centers).
My theoretical and methodological background is grounded on the integration of Attachment theory, transactional theories and the more recent theory of Emotional Availability.
