Dr. Stefanovics received her PhD in medical sociology in St. Petersburg State University and completed a 2-year research fellowship in epidemiology and public health in 2001 at Yale University, School of Epidemiology and Public Health. She is currently Associate Research Scientist at Yale University, Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine and biostatistician at VA New England Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Centers (MIRECC).
Her main research interest has been in the stigma of mental illness. She also maintains an active interest in gambling studies, homelessness and HIV issues, interdisciplinary HIV research.
