Dr. Falguni Das

Biography

I am currently a Research Scientist in the Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas. I obtained my B.Sc. (Hons) degree in 1994 from University of Calcutta, India. I received my M.Sc. degree in Botany, with specialization in Microbiology in 1997 from the Kalyani University India. I earned my B.ED Degree from University of Calcutta in 1998. I then entered University of Calcutta?s Ph.D. program. My Ph.D. work, focused on the role of peroxidase in Eucalyptus Sp. I submitted my Ph.D. thesis work in 2004 end and awarded Ph.D. degree in Plant Physiology (Agriculture) in 2006. I was competitively recruited by the prestigious University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) in 2005. My area of research relates to diabetic kidney disease and renal cancer, more specifically to the development and control of these devastating illnesses. Both as Post and Pre- Doctoral Fellow I have published my novel findings in prestigious peer-reviewed journals.
