Hsien-Yuanlane is a distinguished professor, Director, at Department of Psychiatry, Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences, College of Medicine. He received is M.D degree from Taipei Medical University (Tiwan), 1987 and Ph.D. from National Defense Medical Centre (Tiwan), 2000. He was appointed as Adjunct research Fellow, institute of Biomedical sciences, Academia Sinica, from 2009-2015 Professor, Director, Graduate Institute of Clinical Medical Science, CMU. In 2006 he was awarded with Scientific Paper Award, Biotechnology Category, Taiwan, then 10th National Innovation Award, Taiwan (2013) and 24th Wang-Ming-Ning Award, Taiwan (2014), Ministry of Science and Technology Outstanding Research Award, Taiwan (2014),CNS Drug Innovation Award,the International of College of Neuropsychopharmacology (2016).
Primarily focus on neuropsychopharmacology, cognitive neuroscience, precision medicine, and pharmacogenetics/genomics.. In recent years, his study aims to (1) determine genetic and non-genetic determinants for treatment response of mental disorders; (2) develop novel NMDA-enhancing agents for treating mental disorders and dementia. These studies are innovative, carefully designed and likely to revolutionize our understanding and care of patients afflicted with mental disorders or dementia.
