Dr. Lizziane Kretli Winkelstroter
Professor, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences
University of São Paulo, Brazil
Dr. Winkelstroter developed her undergraduation at pharmaceutical sciences from 2002-2006. She holds an M.S. degree (2009) and a Ph.D. (2012) degree in Biosciences Applied to Pharmacy at University of São Paulo with emphasis in food microbiology and molecular biology. In her Ph.D she had the opportunity to work for one year as an intern at Food and Drug administration, FDA, in Laurel MD, supervised by Prof. Dr. Atin Datta.
Dr. Winkelstroter main research interests are in Food Safety, Food Microbiology, Food Biotechnology, Food Biopreservation, and Biofilm Formation by Microorganisms. Professor Lizziane is now developing an research project which include classic and molecular methodology for the rapid quantification of bacterial contamination in foods, evaluation of antimicrobial activity from natural products and its potential to control and prevent biofilm formation and determination of genetics and biochemistry factors involved in bacterial biofilm formation.
