Dr. Owen Lo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, & Special Education at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada. Dr. Lo received his PhD in High Ability Studies at UBC and completed his MA (Gifted Education) and BA (Special Education, minor in Geography) in Taiwan. His research is rooted in two major theoretical frameworks, namely, Positive Psychology and Social Constructivism (especially with regards to Lev Vygotskys work and social learning theory).
Research interests involve giftedness, dual-exceptionalities, prosociality, social & cross-cultural psychology. Moreover, Dr Lo is an expert in the Grounded Theory method (GTM) and has published methodological articles on GTM validation and issues with regard to literature review.
