Patrizia Velotti is Associate Professor of Adolescent and Adult Psychopathology at Genoa University. In 2009 she received her doctorate at the University of Rome Sapienza, where she later served as a postdoctoral research fellow. Professor Velotti has conducted several studies addressing emotion regulation processes and their implications for interpersonal relationships. She has developed a strong expertise in the assessment and clinical implications of emotion dysregulation, pathological personality traits, aggression, and violent behavior, as well as in their complex interplay in explaining interpersonal functioning. Some of this work as also regarded possible shared mechanisms underlying maladaptive behavior often associated with violent behavior.
