Dr. Tanjir Rashid Soron
Head of Mental Health Service at Synesisit, Nationwide Mental Health Service, Bangladesh
Dr. Tanjir Rashid Soron received his MD in Psychiatry from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Bangladesh. He completed his MPH from Northern University. Currently he is working as Head of Mental Health Service at Synesisit that is providing a nationwide mental health service over phone in Bangladesh. Previously Dr. Soron worked for ICDDR,B. He is the leading author of Facebook and mental health research in Bangladesh. He completed many certified courses on research methodology, statistics, psychology of web and other psychiatric issues from various national and international institutions. He is interested in Facebook addiction, Cyberbullying, porn addiction, online gaming and psychometric scale validation. Another domain of his interest is to develop innovate mental health service for the developing countries. He is on the editorial board many journals including Journal Clinical Psychiatry, Central African Journal of Public Health, Journal of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences and Journal of Neuroscience and Behavioral Health.
His studies are focused on the Facebook use pattern and its impact on mental health. He has worked for depression and thyroid hormone and the studies of psychometric scale validation. He is also interested in Telepsychiatry Service development and their role in depression management. Their current studies focus on role of Facebook in depression, anxiety and violence.
