Dr. Elvis Genbo Xu is an aquatic toxicologist joined in the Department of Environmental Sciences at University of California, Riverside in 2015. Dr. Xu received his Ph.D. degree from The University of Hong Kong after graduation as James Henry Scott Scholar. Dr. Xu graduated from Chinese National Training Base in marine biology and biotechnology and obtained his BSc (2007) from the Ocean University of China, MPhil in genetics (2010) from Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, China. Dr. Xu is the (co)author of over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles with accumulated impact factor over 70 and over 25 international conference presentations.
Principal research interests involve environmental toxicology of classic and emerging contaminants, with particular emphasis on endocrine disrupting chemicals in aquatic environments, as well as integrated ecological risk assessment and management. Areas of expertise include toxicogenomics, in vivo & in vitro bioassays, and ecological risk assessment.
