Dr. Hongseok Choi is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2007, and has worked as an Assistant Scientist in Nano-Engineered Materials Processing Center (NEMPC) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Choi?s main research expertise lies in the interrelated areas of structural integration of smart micro/nanosystems and tools for smart manufacturing, laser-based additive manufacturing and micro materials processing, and bulk nano-engineered materials processing and manufacturing. He has published 38 referred journal articles, 40 peer-reviewed conference proceedings, and invented 7 US patents relevant to metal-embedded devices (thin film sensors), ultrasonic powder feeding system, and metal matrix nanocomposites.
