Hongxiong Guo, a Professor who works at Jiangsu provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, China since July of 2005. In 2005, I got Ph. D Degree at Peking Union Medical College, Tsinghua University at immunology. From 1999 to 2002, I was an assistant professor in Guangdong Medical College. I have been researching on field of molecular epidemiology and immunology of infectious agents including bacteria, viruses, and parasite and nucleic acid test since 2002, especially in HIV-1 molecular epidemiology and developing nucleic acid test for HIV-1. In 2009, we for the first time published HIV-1 subtypes among men who sex with men in China and identified some novel unique recombinant which formed from various subtype or CRF of HIV in Jiangsu province. I have authored more than fifty articles and five books on microbiology field. Now we focus our interesting in spatio-temporal dynamics of HIV and HCV using molecular epidemiology theories and methods.
My research interest focuses on molecular epidemiology of HIV and other retroviruses, spatio-temporal spread dynamics of virus in a local area, interpret the characteristic of viral genome, and predicting antigen and epitope diversity basing on sequence using immune-informatics.
