Biography

Dr Judith E Raber-Durlacher graduated from the Dental School of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) in 1981. From 1981-1991 she practiced general dentistry and was lecturer to the Academic Centre for Dentistry in Amsterdam (ACTA), Dept. of Internal Medicine and General Pathology. From 1986-1991 she was also staff member of the Emma Children?s Hospital and provided oral care to children suffering from cancer. In 1993, she earned a PhD degree at the UvA (pregnancy gingivitis) and became affiliated to the Dept. of Periodontology at ACTA. From 2004-2006, she held a position as Visiting Adjunct Associate Professor, Dept. of Oral Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences, University of Illinois at Chicago, USA. In 2005, she was invited as Visiting Professor Dept of Oral Medicine, Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC, USA. Presently she is affiliated to the Dept of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Academic Medical Center Amsterdam (AMC). She has published and lectured widely on oral supportive care in cancer. She is Past President of the International Society of Oral Oncology (ISOO) and member of the Advisory Board of the MASCC/ISOO Mucositis Study Group.
