Prof Manny Mathuthu is a Nuclear Physicist by profession. He obtained his PhD degree from the University of Zimbabwe in 1998. He has many publications in Applied Radiation Science and currently he specializes in Nuclear Forensics Research. He has won several international awards some of which are the Fulbright African scholarship on which he went to do research and study Nuclear Reactor Operation at the North Carolina State University from August 2008 to April 2009. The second notable award is the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Fellowship on which he is a Visiting Scholar at the Nuclear Engineering department of the university of Tennessee doing research on Developing Rapid Detection Techniques for Nuclear Forensics Signatures from August to November 2016.
