Naser Esmaeili
Editor-in-Chief
Visiting Researcher, Polymer Chemistry
Fraunhofer IAP, Potsdam, Germany
Naser Esmaeili got his Ph.D. in the field of bio-based materials and polymer chemistry. His Ph.D. studies focus on bio-based thermoset polymers derived from natural polyphenolic materials such as tannins which has been done at Fraunhofer IAP (Potsdam, Germany) and Iran Polymer and Petrochemical Institute (Tehran, Iran). His master thesis was about 5-(hydroxymethyl)furfural (HMF) synthesis from fructose and preparation of urea-HMF thermoset resin as a green replacement for UF resin. He studied Applied Chemistry as B.Sc. Now, he has focused on bio-based polymers having different applications such as thermal insulating material, intumescent, wastewater remediation etc. Also, preparation of bio-based photocurable materials for being used in 3D-printing industry is one of his interests.
