Peigao Duan is the director of the Department of Energy and Chemical Engineering and serves now as a professor in Henan Ploytechnic University in China. He has research experience in biofuels production and their upgrading, specifically in direct liquefaction and gasification of microalgae and duckweed and upgrading of crude bio-oils derived from microalgae and duckweed in high-temperature water. His research could play a major role in the nations transition toward energy independence and reduced carbon dioxide emissions from the energy sector. He has now published some papers in the journals of Enery Fule, Ind Eng Chem Res, Biores Technol, Appl Catal B Environ, Energy Environ Sci, J of Supercrit Fluids, etc. His research work was supported by the Henan Polytechnic University (B2011-008), National Science Foundation of China (21106034), and the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University (NCET-13-775).
