He is a Member of Expert Panel of National Natural Science Foundation of China. Professor Chang was a Member of Council of Chemical Society of Gansu province of China from 1990 to 2000 and a Member of Expert Panel of China National High-tech R&D Program (863 Program) from 2000 to 2004. Professor Chang?s major areas of interest are water environmental science, materials and methods for water treatment, coagulation and flocculation. He has been active over 42 years in his field and has been a investigator as the leader to propose, carry out, manage and finish various research projects He has authored over 100 papers published in peer-reviewed journals and five books published in China presses
