Dr. Ruchi Srivastava is an Assistant Specialist at the University of California, Irvine. She is a viral immunologist by training with specialization in infectious diseases. Dr. Srivastava joined the University of California, Irvine in the year 2013, her current research at University of California, involved studies in the field of HSV immunology, investigating humoral and cellular immune responses, epitope mapping and the development and optimization of vaccines against herpes simplex virus type 1 and type 2 (HSV-1 and HSV-2). Her primary interests are vaccine development. Currently at UC Irvine, she is trying to develop a new class of human herpes vaccines based on an innovative strategy for the discovery of epitopes from the herpes tegument proteins that induce protective T cell immunity. She is a reviewer for 10 journals and has published 15 peer reviewed papers.
