Suzanne Williams is an Assistant Professor at the University of South Dakota (USD) and teaches courses in the Physical Education major degree program. She also works in conjunction with the local community schools and the Sanford Health Fitness (fit) Initiative, ensuring USD Elementary Education and Physical Education major students additional experience in physical and health promotion and education. Her current research foci include childhood overweight and obesity, as well as physical activity and health promotion, particularly aligned with Sanford fit in school-aged youth. In terms of professional service, she currently fulfills an institutional role on the SD Board of Regents Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER) Council; serves on the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) SD Executive Board; contributes to the Sanford fit Steering Committee; and participates as a member of SHAPE America.
