Yong Zhang obtained Ph. D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Eshelman School of Pharmacy, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is the co-author over 20 peer reviewed publications in academic journals and conferences. He has several patents granted and pending on drug development and drug delivery. He is also invited speaker for universities and pharmaceutical companies. He is currently appointed as a Pharmaceutical Regulatory Scientist at UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and also serving in other industrial positions. Previously, he worked for GlaxoSmithKline from 2003 to 2008 and AstraZeneca in 2010, as well as a public traded biotech company in RTP from 2013-2016. For community service, he has served as Executive Vice President, CAST-NC, president of American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) UNC Chapter and International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE) UNC Chapter. He also obtained an MS in Organic Chemistry from University of South Carolina.
