Introduction: Autism is a rare variety of developmental disorder, seen in early childhood. Odd behaviour, disorder of language and cannot learn etiquettes’ are the classic features of autism. Difficulty in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and display of obsessed behaviour are the trio signs of autism. These children cannot distinguish between right or wrong habits for example if the child is thirsty he would drink water straight from the tap. It’s a non-communicable epidemic disease of modern era!! This condition is now called autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Almost all autistics have some form of heavy metal toxicity. Homeopathy potentially addresses the influence of heavy metal toxicity. How? Homoeopathy has traditionally matched symptom picture with medicines to address heavy metal toxicity. Here homeopathy is particularly is attractive due to its absence of toxic effects. When these factors are corrected behavioural improvements are seen. Method: The homeopathic method for handling serious disorders being totalistic and aiming at treating the genetic tendencies with a well strategic management. A series of 10 children with autism [age 3-11yrs] was considered for study. Inclusion is according to- a) Homeopathic medicines given was based on aetiology and symptomatic behaviour. b) Homeopathy medicines were prescribed to release the toxic effects of heavy metals. c) Intercurrent homeopathic drugs were given as per the stressing factors. Parents were instructed not to give any other medication for any illness during this course. They were told to report back in every 40 days till 10 months from the commencement of homeopathic treatment. Results & Conclusion: During research at my clinic, I have observed encouraging results. Obsession decreased and eye contact increased. Behaviour and sociability improved. Though subjective; the response to homeopathic medicines in this case series proved homeopathy as a promising therapy in treating autism.
