The field of stem cell research has come a long way from the early days of bone marrow transplant and progressed into sophisticated domain of autologous, allogeneic and embryonic stem cell and has largely escaped the risks faced during the emergence of genetic engineering. In fact, it has reached critical mass with several companies carrying out cutting edge research and several government organizations are recognizing the significant impact it would have in the well being of humanity with the promise of significant reduction of healthcare costs. We are already seeing evidence of positive impact on patients suffering from Autism, Alzheimers, MS, and Cerebral Palsy. And its only going to get better once the brilliant research meets the motivation of government and capital markets to bring this epoch-making technology to market and help cure degenerative diseases for the first time in human history.
