Abstract:

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a complex pathophysiological process induced by biomechanical forces that affect the brain and negatively impacts an individual's activities of daily living. This presentation will provide an introduction to the mechanism of the neurological injury as well as discuss the signs and symptoms of the most common visual disorders related to TBI. At the conclusion of this lecture, the participant will understand TBI and the mechanism of injury, learn the prevalence of TBI and concussion-related vision disorders, and recognize the signs and symptoms of the most common visual disorders related to TBI.
