Metal fume fever includes a variety of symptoms like general feeling of ill health (malaise), chills, and fever. Individuals affected may have excessive thirst and a metallic taste in their mouth. Symptoms usually subside spontaneously in six to 12 hours. A classic case would occur when galvanized steel is welded in a poorly ventilated area.
