Secondary cataract

With trendy cataract surgery the cataract is removed however its outer shell, the capsule, is left largely intact. The implant is placed into this residual capsule. Over time this residual capsule could have a growth of traditional cells that clouds the vision. This vaporisation is termed a secondary cataract, and happens in up to half-hour of eyes once cataract surgery.
