An Overview of Gastric Cancer: Classification, Risk Factors, Symptoms and Treatment

Gastric Cancer (GC), also known as gastric adenocarcinoma, or stomach cancer, is one of the most
common types of malignant neoplastic cancer and it is a major concern on a global scale as it leads to
a significantly higher mortality rate worldwide. It is the third related case of cancer related death. If
metastasis occurs at a notable rate the survival rate might drop down to as low as 32%. The
occurrence of gastric cancer increases gradually with age, but in most cases (approximately 10%
cases) it is diagnosed at the age of either 45 years or younger. Cancer progression takes place in
multiple stages. However, a decline in the rate of gastric cancer can be seen, and it can be attributed
