Nanotechnology has emerged as a powerful tool in various scientific disciplines, including biology, reproduction and pharmaceuticals. This paper provides an overview of the history, types and applications of nanoparticles, with a particular focus on Silver Nanoparticles (AgNPs). AgNPs possess unique properties, such as high surface area-to-volume ratio, which make them suitable for diverse biomedical applications. This paper highlights the significant antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties of AgNPs and their potential to address the challenges of multidrug resistance. AgNPs interact with bacterial and fungal cells, causing damage to their membranes and nucleic acids, ultimately leading to cell death. Moreover, AgNPs exhibit strong antiviral activity by interfering with viral replication and limiting cell-to-cell spread. The antimicrobial, antifungal and antiviral efficacy .. View More»
