their menstrual cycle. It is a common gynecological condition affecting millions of women worldwide. The term
"dysmenorrhea" originates from the Greek words "dys," meaning difficult or painful and "meno," meaning
month. This condition can significantly impact a woman's quality of life and may require medical intervention for
effective management. In this essay, we will explore the causes, symptoms, diagnosis and available treatments
